A seasoned entrepreneur with a legacy of business excellence, Jonathan began his career in the vehicle spare parts trade, where he established a foundation in commerce and supply chain management. In 1991, he transitioned into the fast-moving consumer goods industry by partnering with his wife to establish a distributorship for Guinness Nigeria Plc. This strategic move marked the beginning of JOACO’s rise as a trusted distributor in Northern Nigeria. In 1997, the company’s portfolio expanded when it became an official distributor for Nigerian Breweries Plc, further solidifying its presence in the region. Recognising the growing need for integrated logistics, Jonathan spearheaded the company’s entry into the haulage and transport sector in 2015. JOACO became a non-key transporter for Nigerian Breweries (a Heineken company) in June 2017 and, through consistent performance and service reliability, was elevated to key transporter status in November 2024, a notable achievement in the Nigerian logistics space. As chairman, Jonathan provides strategic leadership and oversight across all facets of the company’s operations. He is widely respected for his integrity, vision, and deep understanding of Nigeria’s commercial landscape. Under his guidance, JOACO continues to grow as a dependable partner to multinational brands and a key player in regional economic development.
